I’m excited to announce my participation in the Inspire Project 2023 exhibition, Tension. Future Scenarios and Other Stories, hosted by MOMus Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, Greece. This year’s project explores the powerful theme of tension between present and future, reflecting on the creative potentials and conflicts that shape our evolving world. Under the guidance of Albert Barqué-Duran, my workshop experience and resulting artwork, Sensorify, became a journey into these complex interactions.
The Concept Behind Sensorify
Sensorify emerged from MOMus’ interdisciplinary workshop, which invited artists to explore scenarios for the future through contemporary lenses. Inspired by the project’s theme, my work focused on how technology can shape our sensory experiences and perceptions of the future. Sensorify engages viewers by simulating augmented environments, connecting the organic with digital feedback loops that amplify subtle sensory shifts. The artwork acts as a mediator, translating environmental inputs into visual, auditory, and tactile responses. It’s an exploration of technology’s dual role as both an enhancer and disruptor of human experience.
Working with Albert Barqué-Duran: Expanding the Creative Dialogue
Collaborating with Albert Barqué-Duran in this workshop was transformative. Albert’s forward-thinking approach encouraged us to view technology not only as a tool but as a language—one that communicates and challenges our interpretations of reality. His emphasis on interdisciplinary experimentation fueled Sensorify, sparking ideas about how art can serve as a bridge between present tensions and future possibilities. This environment of shared curiosity and collaboration fostered connections between artists from diverse backgrounds, all of us working towards a shared goal: to envision, question, and innovate in response to an evolving world.
Inspire Project 2023: Art as a Space for Future Exploration
The Inspire Project 2023 provided a rare opportunity to create within an ecosystem that values open-ended exploration and discussion. This year’s exhibition, curated by MOMus, highlighted the pressing themes of social, technological, and environmental tension, opening up dialogue on how art can envision alternative futures. Each artwork in the exhibition challenges viewers to reflect on how our world may transform. The experience reinforced my belief that art must actively engage with societal shifts and that it can inspire audiences to think beyond the boundaries of the present.
What’s Next?
As Sensorify continues to evolve, I am excited to see how audiences interact with it, discovering their own insights about the blending of technology with sensory experience. Stay tuned for more updates, reflections, and upcoming exhibitions as I continue exploring these questions that inspire and shape my work.
