Steve Zafeiriou (b. 1998, Thessaloniki, GR) is a New Media Artist, Technologist and Founder of Saphire Labs. His work explores the boundary between perception and reality, researching the ways technology influences, shapes, and distorts our understanding of the world around us. Through a practice grounded in generative algorithms, electronic circuits, and interactive installations, Steve investigate human behavior and the illusory nature of reality, encouraging viewers to rethink their understanding of the world around them.

Steve’s creative process revolves around real-time data and human input, making each piece a living, evolving experience that responds to its audience. By integrating generative algorithms and other digital processes, he erase traces of his hand, creating an artwork that feels autonomous yet reflective of the observer’s own interactions. This dynamic interplay draws upon both scientific and artistic approaches, challenging traditional notions of authorship and offering a digital mirror to viewers’ own behaviors and perceptions.

At the heart of his practice is an invitation to reflect.
